AUBURN, Ala. - On Oct. 17, 2026, the Auburn Police Department arrested Jaylin Chavarus Haire, 27, of Ozark, Alabama, on a charge of robbery first degree.

The arrest stems from an incident in the 100 block of Wright Street where a victim reported that an individual took a pistol from his person and pointed it at him. The victim provided a description of the individual, and responding officers quickly located and detained a person matching that description nearby.

During the investigation, Haire was identified as the suspect, and the firearm was recovered. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant, and Haire was subsequently arrested at the Auburn Police Department. He was transported to the Lee County Jail where he is being held without bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
